CNIA PI/CPC Monthly Committee Meeting @ Zoom
Apr 23 @ 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM
What is Public Information/Cooperation with the Professional Community (PI/CPC)? Public Information (P.I.) in Alcoholics Anonymous means carrying the message of recovery to the still-suffering alcoholic by informing the general public about the A.A. program. We carry the message by getting in touch with and responding to the media, schools, industry, and other organizations which can report on the nature and purpose of A.A. and what it can do for alcoholics. Cooperation with the Professional Community (C.P.C.) members inform professionals and future professionals about A.A. — what we are, where we are, what we can do, and what we cannot do. They attempt to establish better communication between A.A.s and professionals, and to find simple, effective ways of cooperating without affiliating. CPC sprang out of PI in 1970, when it was recognized that some professionals interact with the still-suffering alcoholic as a part of their job.  Through professionals, alcoholics may be reached who might otherwise never find the program, or they may be reached sooner with the help of informed non-A.A.s. CNIA – the California Northern Interior Area 07 of Alcoholics Anonymous has a monthly PI/CPC committee meeting on Zoom.  We meet on Zoom on the 4th Tuesday every month at 7:30 P.M. The A.A. Preamble

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.  The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.  There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions.  A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes.  Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
