Part of Bridging the Gap between a treatment program and A.A. is the Temporary Contact Program, which is designed to help the alcoholic in an alcoholism treatment program make that transition.
As you know, one of the more “slippery” places in the journey to sobriety is between the door of the facility and the nearest A.A. group or meeting. Some of us can tell you that, even though we heard of A.A. in treatment, we were too fearful to go.
A.A. experience suggests that attending meetings regularly is critical. To bridge the gap, A.A. members volunteer to be temporary contacts and introduce newcomers to Alcoholics Anonymous.
We need these volunteers.
One of the efforts of our Bridging The Gap committee is to arrange temporary contact with people coming out of the Tulare County Sheriff’s RSAT program. If you are willing to establish contact with one of these newcomers and meet them at their first meeting, please join us!
Our next Bridging The Gap committee meeting will be July 6, at 11 AM, on Zoom only.
The Tulare County Sheriff inmate programs office has an automatic meeting application form.
You can fill out that application form, for free, using the Firefox web browser. Please send the edited and saved form to Carol Ann at Central Office. Carol Ann will email it to the Tulare County Sheriff inmate programs office.
If you are looking for an opportunity to be of service, please join our Bridging The Gap committee. :-)
