Two new pages added to the website: H&I and BTG

Are you looking to help your own sobriety and make a meaningful difference in your community? Unleash the power of sobriety through volunteering!

By dedicating your time and energy to helping others, you can find purpose, build connections, and foster personal growth. We have opportunities available πŸ˜‰

Hospitals and Institutions (H&I) is a Ninth Tradition service committee which carries the message of A.A. to the alcoholic in Corrections and Treatment facilities in California. This new page has links to the NorCal H&I website, flyers for programs, and the current financial report. It also has the information on where to send money collected via the Pink Can.

Bridging The Gap (BTG) is a Ninth Tradition service committee which provides temporary contact with someone coming out of treatment or incarceration. Your role is to meet them at their first meeting and introduce them to the members there. To facilitate this, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office will set up a Zoom meeting, so you can meet the person before they are released. This new web page has the application form for TCSO.

Both pages have meeting times and dates for their committees. Both pages have been added to the main menu of our website.

Embrace the transformative journey of recovery and service – start volunteering today for a brighter, sober future. πŸ™‚

Bridging The Gap volunteers needed

Part of Bridging the Gap between a treatment program and A.A. is the Temporary Contact Program, which is designed to help the alcoholic in an alcoholism treatment program make that transition.

As you know, one of the more β€œslippery” places in the journey to sobriety is between the door of the facility and the nearest A.A. group or meeting. Some of us can tell you that, even though we heard of A.A. in treatment, we were too fearful to go.

A.A. experience suggests that attending meetings regularly is critical. To bridge the gap, A.A. members volunteer to be temporary contacts and introduce newcomers to Alcoholics Anonymous.

We need these volunteers.

One of the efforts of our Bridging The Gap committee is to arrange temporary contact with people coming out of the Tulare County Sheriff’s RSAT program. If you are willing to establish contact with one of these newcomers and meet them at their first meeting, please join us!

Our next Bridging The Gap committee meeting will be July 6, at 11 AM, on Zoom only.

The Tulare County Sheriff inmate programs office has an automatic meeting application form.

You can fill out that application form, for free, using the Firefox web browser. Please send the edited and saved form to Carol Ann at Central Office. Carol Ann will email it to the Tulare County Sheriff inmate programs office.

If you are looking for an opportunity to be of service, please join our Bridging The Gap committee. πŸ™‚
